ACe curriculum

MTEG’s educational program employs the National Junior Tennis and Learning network’s Academic Creative Engagement (A.C.E.) curriculum. The ACE curriculum is designed to encourage academic achievement, health/wellness, and social/emotional skills by guiding youth through educational processes that include decision-making, problem solving, and working together toward common goals. On average 100 youth participate in our educational program three times a week, for an hour after tennis practice.

Mentoring/character development

MTEG provides supportive, confidential, empowering services to help all students thrive. We also provide behavior modification, and intervention plans for creating knowledge base of the connection between thoughts choices and habits. One thing we teach is that students have power and not to become victims. We instruct students on effective methods for dealing with bullying and conflict resolution. MTEG works with parents and students to create academic plans in cases where the students are falling behind scholastically.

Most youth enter the MTEG program with poor eating habits. A lot of youth skip breakfast and eat unhealthy snacks. MTEG provides nutrition plans and works with the parents on creating shopping lists for food. We also instruct students on proper hydration. We include techniques for stress reduction, relaxation and sleep schedule management.

Junior high, high school & college placement/mentoring

MTEG assist’s youth with the admission and application process for competitive private schools and have placed 50 kids in high achieving private schools. We work with students to identify the right cultural, academic and athletic fit for private high schools and post-secondary athletic and academic opportunities. We put our youth in environments where they can meet and interact with college coaches such as combines where they showcase their talents in front of coaches and representatives from colleges and universities. Student must prepare for these opportunities by researching the colleges and universities at the combines. We also advise students on NCAA regulations on interactions with schools and their representatives. MTEG also hosts the Winter Invitational, which serves as a showcase for their talents.
